A New Chapter…

I recently lost my father in October to a long and protracted battle with cancer. Over the past two to three years during his long decline, more and more of my time became focused on his care and the care of my mom. (My dad had been her primary care-giver as she had a stroke 10 years ago which left her unable to drive and with some short-term memory problems.) Truth be told, it basically took over my life. Now I find myself trying to find a balance with having a life and the continued responsibilities of taking care of my mother. I miss my dad desperately, but his absence leaves some space for me to try some new opportunities. I believe that he would want me to do that too. In that spirit, I’ve decided to try my own hand at blogging. I’ve become quite a fan of perusing various blogs over the past year or so. My hope is that this blog may provide me an opportunity to grow and may provide any potential readers with a little something to think or smile about as they read.
